Hi! This is the script I use to compress videos to 15MB to send on discord. It's on my website so I can do it from other devices than my desktop, but you can use it too!
500MB upload limit. If your file's bigger than that, it probably won't compress well anyway.
You can cut down your videos with something like LosslessCut, anything longer than 1.5 minutes or so probably won't look great.
I don't keep anything you upload here. Uploads are removed as soon as compression is complete. Processed files are removed immediately after downloading / within 10 minutes if not downloaded.
I think in general, anything longer than a minute and a half probably won't look great but it's really dependent on the content of the video.
A lot of them aren't very smart about how they pick resolution and frame rate, I've found my method usually gets either a higher resolution or higher frame rate. Also I own the server for this so I can trust it but obviously i'm no more trustworthy to you than anyone else.
